Hoy les cuento que en WoWScape, el servidor de World of Warcraft que yo juego, en uno de sus servidores, hubo 3 reportes de hacking de una jugadora  bastante reconocida en los servidores, donante y ex-Game Master. Ella tiene un Hunter (70) con items de donacion. Los reportes fueron:

• Fue acusada de usar seguidamente el trinket Dragonspine Trophy, que tiene el efecto de "Tus ataques cuerpo a cuerpo y de rango tienen una posilbilidad de incrementar el rating de velocidad en 325 por 10 segundos" (¿Se fijan en ese "tienen una posilbilidad"? Porque no siempre se activa), entonces el primer reporte era de que lo usaba muy seguido, y eso normalmente no pasaría.
• Que su mascota tenia el clásico "pet bug", que hacia 1500 de daño, lo cual es imposible, porque la pet que mas daño hace de todo el juego hace como 500.
• Que habia utilizado una spell que se llama "Copy of Haste", y esa spell no es utilizada por nada en el juego.

Entonces empieza el "flame war" de que eso no es posible, ella se defiende de que la pet si puede hacer ese daño, muestra que tiene un attack power de 2400 (eso es muchisimo)... y siguen diciendo cosas... un "tira y afloje" bastante largo... pero ya terminó. Terminó anteayer, con la respuesta que esperában los jugadores (yo tambien)...La respuesta fue...

Eso era lo que tenia que pasar. La evidencia no era tan sólida, pero es justo. Es que hay servidores y casos en que los donantes no son baneados. Y pensaba escribir "qué dolor de guevas" (es mujer), porque despues de haberle metido dinero real a un player, para que se lo baneen a uno... eso si es muy duro.

Ah, y finalmente, filtraron una pre-beta del Service Pack 1 de Office 2007 (Sólo en inglés)

(Sí, todavía no aparece el torrent, pero pronto lo pondrán) Es raro, un SP1 viene en camino para Office... apenas teniendo la version retail un poco más de 9 meses (la RTM, que es prácticamente la versíón final, la sacaron el 6 de noviembre)

Prácticamente, la RTM y la "retail" (o final) son lo mismo, hay empresas de software como Microsoft que hacen RTM de sus productos (Windows Vista, Visual Studio, Office...) Eso lo digo para los que no saben de terminología de desarrollo de software.

Por aquí tenemos un parche para Windows Vista (no oficial), que soluciona algunos problemas de comptatibilidad, y en mi opinión aún más importante, aumenta la velocidad de copiado de archivos. Pasa de 3 a 11 MB, incluso más. Quien lo quiera bajar, aquí lo tiene.

Ya en el nuevo servidor privado en el que he estado jugando (WoWscape) empiezan a decir que un tal Burlex que estaba muy furioso con WoWscape porque estaban haciendo mucho dinero con donaciones. Pero lo que pasa es que Burlex no es un don nadie, es uno de los desarrolladores de Antrix. Hasta ahi nada raro, cierto? Ahora lo que pasa es que Burlex piensa cambiar el End User License Agreement (EULA) (Contrato de licencia para el usuario final) de Antrix el cual tiene 3 punticos bien buenos, no sólo contra WoWscape, sino contra todos los servidores privados que usen Antrix. Miren los puntos en negrilla, son los críticos.

También se habla de volverlo closed source, como era en un principio. ¿Qué va a pasar con los servidores privados que ejecuten Antrix? Porque yo creo que todos los jugadores de WoWscape estamos pensando lo mismo: "Si vuelven a MaNGOS nos vamos". La diferencia es ENORME, MaNGOS sólo soporta como máximo 300 jugadores, puede que más. Antrix soporta más de 1200 simultáneamente. O no sé, espero que le descubran un "hueco" a la licencia para poder seguir con las donaciones como lo han estado haciendo (podría ser llamarse a ellos mismos una organización "sin ánimo de lucro")

La licencia no ha sido cambiada, y como que esta licencia sigue siendo un draft todavía.
